I begin your tile order with commercially manufactured clay. All of Lea Nigel Studios tile designs begin as hand-carved clay prototypes, replicated in hand-poured plaster molds, with a limited number of pressings. Every tile is hand-painted and will have unique variation, each tile an individual beauty. I am really particular about Lea Nigel Studios tile quality, and I do my best to create with consistency, however variation is the essence of handmade tile. Please allow 1/16” variation in dimensions. The completed tile is about ½” thick.
I offer a multitude of beautiful, glaze options for you to choose from. i will find the perfect match for your idea. The glaze palette utilized is the highest temperature you can fire ceramic and maintain the array of bright colors you see in our work. All of the in stock glazes are non-porous, vitreous once glaze fired. They’re also rated food safe, non-toxic. Absorption rate of our finished tile is about 2%, any rate less than 3% is considered vitreous.
Install Lea Nigel Studios ceramic tile on your backsplash, fireplace, or bathroom wall. I make contemporary tile designs, the specialty shape field tile. Add some mid-century modern or contemporary, farmhouse style with our geometric architectural tile for your renovation or new construction interior design.

Not remodeling or building your dream palace? I can also use our line of geometric tile to create a custom wall decor piece, just for you, in any color you choose. Need design help? Have a shape idea that you don't see? Please contact the studio. The design fee is $35 per hour. I can do an initial design consultation if you’re not certain on your order fir $175. This includes any time from 5 minutes, up to 5 hours, of preliminary design work and a single, and one in-person meeting.
Lea Nigel Art and Address Tile are hand painted with multiple glazes. No two tiles will look exactly alike, each an individual for unique character just for your home. The shipping time varies as everything is bespoke, made-to-order. Lead time is typically between 2-18 weeks. The shipping time is dictated but what you decide to purchase from our studios. I work quickly to craft your order with care and professionalism. A single Art Tile will take about 2-4 weeks to ship while square footage for an architectural tile order (your backsplash, kitchen, or bath tile) will take 4-36 weeks, depending on the amount of square footage you desire and how busy the studio is.
