I’d love to work on your design ideas with you! If you need any assistance deciding on shape, color(s), or design dimensions, I’m here to help. Bring me your custom ideas and are I’m ready to create tile art just for you. I cannot discuss any design ideas, colors, size or scope of projects without a design consultation payment or order.
I have an initial design consultation fee of $175, this includes UP TO 5 hours of our artisan time, if needed. I can meet and talk over your ideas, I will bring any samples I have on hand, even begin to work on your project... for UP TO 5 hours. After that time is used, there is a $35 an hour design fee to continue with your project. Once the size and scope of your project has been figured out, you will have to place your full order to initiate tile production. If you decide not to order, proceed, you still pay the initial upfront fee of $175, even if I only end up meeting or working for you for 5 minutes.
The variation inherent in each individual tile is the most amazing aspect of handmade tile. No two tiles will look alike. Your tile will vary from the images on our website. If your friend orders our Petite Cairo in Iron glaze, you love it, and order the same exact tile, yours will be unique and beautiful just for you. Your finished tile may vary from your sample, expect variation amongst your order.
I have several in-stock glazes for you to choose from listed on my website. Any other glaze color is considered a special order.
Every tile from the studio is meticulously, lovingly handmade to order. The typical lead time on orders is typically 2-38 weeks. Lead time is dependent upon how small or large your order is and how busy the studio is at the time your order is placed. For square footage orders, 4-38 weeks, depending on size of order. For single Art Tile, 2-4 weeks.
I create my field tile to a nominal size, so a 1x1 inch tile will actually measure 0.8125x0.8125 inches.
This accommodates room for a 3/16 inch grout space. All field tile is modular and 3/16 inches short of actual size to account for a grout space. Lea Nigel Studios square foot measurements are dictated by these figures. If you make a personal design choice to utilize a smaller grout space, or forgo a grout line altogether, you will need to order more tile than is included in each item description. Please allow a 1/16 inch variation, due to the nature of handmade. Please message me for assistance.
I require full payment on your order prior to initiating tile production on any order.
I cannot except cancellations on orders once payment is received, the order is processed and we begin creating your tile for you. There are no refunds or exchanges on any order. I will provide replacements if an item is damaged during transit. I do my best to insure every tile will arrive safely. It is hard for me when even one tile is damaged, as I work so long and hard to create these beauties. I will work with you to resolve any issues you have with your order, as quickly as possible.
Lea Nigel Studios standard method of shipping is USPS Priority Flat Rate, $25 per SQFT for most tile sizes. Shipping on the smaller tiles may be more expensive, depending upon quantity. If you'd prefer a different shipping carrier, please let me know and we will arrange to have this provided. Additional fees may be be required. I can quite freight and international shipping.
I offer hand delivery based on order size and the destination (local, regional, or within USA). The hand delivery fee is mileage and time based, very comparable to USPS costs but with better piece of mind, safer handling, please inquire.
Please unpack your order upon receipt, inspecting all tiles for damages, even if you do it plan to install immediately. Please contact me immediately upon receiving and inspecting your order and I’ll work with you to replace any damaged items or resolve any issues. With home installation (field tile) orders that are shipped, it is acceptable for 1-4% of your tile order to arrive with minor damages (chipped, scratched) due to the nature of shipping such a fragile material. Tile setters, contractors, may be able to use any damaged tile for halves or cuts upon install. If the tile is rendered unusable, I’ll send replacements. always include extra tiles with every square footage (field tile) order as damages during shipping are inevitable. If your tile arrives 100% fabulous, then you’re in luck, you get bonus tile! If a few are damaged beyond use, then you have several others ready to go, on hand, so no worries! When ordering Lea Nigel Studios tile for home installation (field tile) I recommend ordering 5-10% extra to account for damages, cuts, and future repairs.

Limited Warranty - Limitation of Remedies and Damages
Lea Nigel Studios tile should be unpacked and inspected upon receipt, prior to installation.
Please make us aware of any issues or defects immediately, they must be reported as soon as possible after receipt.
Installation of our handmade tile art constitutes acceptance.
Within (1) year from the date of install, in the event of product defect or failure under normal use, Lea Nigel Studios (at our discretion) will repair and/or replace the affected area with the tile at a cost (not to exceed the original square foot cost of the portion of the material shown to be defective).
We are not responsible for the costs associated with the repair or replacement of Lea Nigel Studios tile - including removal, installation or reinstallation.
All claims must be submitted to Lea Nigel Studios before tear out and re-install begins.
We will not be responsible for material failures resulting from use over a damaged, defective or improperly prepared surface. Damage caused by inappropriate installation, accident, misuse, abuse, or improper maintenance is not covered by this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or cracking due to structural movement, excessive deflections or other failures in the substrate or framing, including damage resulting from weather, flood, fire or any other uncontrollable unforeseen acts of natural world.
Variations are inherent characteristics of Lea Nigel Studios tile and are not defects. Variations in dimensions and thickness are expected.
No warranties are made against crazing, scratching or wear due to: improper installation (including improper alteration of the surface with sealers or grout); falling objects; abuse; misuse; exposure to extreme temperatures; using improper chemicals or compounds; non-foot traffic wear or other similar incidents.
